The
Voice of the Speaking Profession NSA/Carolinas has a long and distinguished history of service to NSA and the speaking profession. Our membership includes NSA (National Speakers Association) founding members, many NSA Past Presidents, Cavett Award (the highest NSA honor) winners, and recipients of the NSA President's Award for Distinguished Service. Over 20% of members have earned the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation (less than 7% of NSA members achieve this level of professional certification. NSA/Carolinas also has the highest concentration of CPAE's (Council of Peers Award for Excellence) honorees of any Chapter. Only five people per year receive this distinguished honor from NSA. NSA/Carolinas as a chapter received the President's Award for Distinguished Service plus numerous chapter awards for service to the speaking profession. NSA/Carolinas held the first ever Speakers University, now a common practice among NSA chapters. Most recently, NSA/Carolinas received a special award for the most attendees at the 2001 NSA National Convention in Dallas. NSA/Carolinas meets in January, April, June, and September plus Speakers University in November. All events happen at the Hilton on Tyvola Road in Charlotte, convenient to I-77.
